Marika Motiwalla

communications manager

As the communications manager at the Schultz Family Foundation, Marika works to advance the mission of creating greater opportunity, accessible to all. She has over ten years of experience helping non-profit organizations develop strong communication and storytelling strategies and leading high-performing marketing and communications teams.

Previously, Marika worked for the Institute for Functional Medicine, where she led the development of national external communications content. Prior to that she spent five years at YWCA Toronto, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of women, girls and gender diverse people through shelter, housing, employment and training, and advocacy. While there, Marika oversaw strategic communications initiatives to advance the organization’s advocacy, fundraising and programmatic goals. Marika has also held roles at WE Charity, an international development charity and youth empowerment movement and in the education sector at The York School, a leading private school in Toronto.

Marika has a Bachelor of Arts with honors degree in Political Studies and History from Queen’s University and a Master of Arts in Journalism from Western University.

Marika is originally from Toronto, but lives in Seattle with her husband Matt.
